Wake up in Ratnagiri

In case you are the kind who nods off when on a train, make sure to wake up at Ratnagiri.

As soon as you leave Ratnagiri station you pass through some amazing terrain, very deep gorges, tunnels and waterfalls that will take your breath away.

Throughout the day, you will pass through small towns with names likes Pen, Nagothane, Roha, Khed, etc.

These are quick little breaks from the thousands of beautiful landscapes that change with every blink of the eye. This continues until Goa.

Which is very good because, if the train is running late, you will not realise it until it gets dark and you remember that the train was supposed to reach Goa by 7 pm.

It was dark by the time we reached Sawantwadi, which is still in Maharashtra. We were running a few hours late.
