The latest bombshell to go south is Rakhi Sawant [Images], who will be seen in an item number in Geleya, starring young stars Prajwal and Tharun.
The Kannada movie is choreographer Harsha's directorial debut.
Rakhi's dance with Prajwal was shot on eight different sets involving costumes changes for each set which has made it one of the costliest songs to be picturised in Kannada cinema, says Harsha who also choreographed the dance.
What made Rakhi go south? Well, it was her friendship with choreographer Harsha that brought her to Kannada cinema.
The actress, who had earlier done an item number in Kamal Hassan [Images]'s Mumbai Express, has lofty ambitions, and one of them is to bag a role opposite megastar Rajnikanth [Images].
"I am very fond of Rajnikanth and am bowled over by his style and dances. I would like to work with him," she told the media in Bangalore.
"Publish my desire in bold headlines so that Rajni sir will know how eager I am to work with him," she added.
Another sexy siren making a foray in Kannada films is Mumaith Khan who features in an item song in Srinivas's directorial debut Orata I Love You, which stars new faces Hemanth and Rashmi.
Mumaith, who has worked in Telugu and Tamil films earlier, is not averse to item numbers though she would like more important roles in Kannada films.
"I have shown my talents as an actress in Telugu films like Operation Duryodhana and Bhookailas. Now I would like to balance my career by working in item numbers and also doing some tempting roles," said the actress, perhaps best known for her Dekh Le number in Munnabhai [Images] MBBS.
