The director may have more luck producing films these days.

His last venture, Raju Hirani's superhit Munnabhai [Images] MBBS is so widely acclaimed that, in a first for Hindi cinema, 20th Century Fox bought its English film rights!

The film, tentatively titled Gangster [Images] MD, and starring Chris Rock in the title role, will probably be directed by Mira Nair.

Vidhu's next film, Parineeta, hits screens internationally on June 10.
