Jaswant's son in BJP's fourth list

March 23, 2004 18:32 IST

With top Bharatiya Janata Party leaders -- Arun Jaitley, Pramod Mahajan, Sushma Swaraj and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi -- opting out of the electoral fray, the party on Tuesday came out with its fourth list of 36 candidates.

Among those in the list are Manvendra Singh, son of Finance Minister Jaswant Singh (Barmer) and Dushyant Singh,
son of Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raja Scindia (Jhalawar in Rajasthan).

Vasundhara Raja Scindia, who won Jhalawar five times, quit the seat after taking the plunge into state politics.

Former president of the BJP's Madhya Pradesh unit, Kailash Joshi, has been nominated from Bhopal.

A last-minute addition to the list was a new entrant to the party, Shubhanghani Devi Gaekwad, a scion of the royal family of Kheda in Gujarat.

Among other prominent leaders who find a mention in the list are: Laxman Singh, brother of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh, from Rajgarh.

He represented Rajgarh in the 13th Lok Sabha as a Congress MP.
