Two NC activists among 13 killed in J&K

Thirteen people, including two National Conference workers, were killed in militancy-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since Tuesday night, official sources said on Wednesday.

Terrorists shot at NC block secretary Ali Mohammed Dar outside his house at Kokerbazar in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar on Wednesday morning, the sources said, adding he was taken to hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Terrorists shot dead another NC worker, Ghulam Rasool Mir, outside his house at Jamalatta in downtown Srinagar, the sources said, adding he later succumbed to injuries.

No terrorist outfit had claimed responsibility for the attacks.

An unidentified terrorist and two civilians were killed in an exchange of fire between security personnel and ultras in Kolinaar village of Baramulla district, they said.

A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, Tasaduq Hussain, was killed in a gunfight with security forces during search operations at Dadsar in Pulwama district on Tuesday night, the sources said.

A bullet-riddled body of one civilian, Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, was found in Teetwal area of Anantnag district on Wednesday, they said.

Terrorists ambushed an army patrol in Katarmal forests in Rajouri district, killing a jawan and injuring two others.

Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Nowshera area of Rajouri district, the sources said.

Unidentified gunmen shot dead a forest employee in Galibagh area of Doda district while the body of one Babu Hussain, suspected to have been killed by militants, was recovered from a stream in Darhal area of Rajouri district, the sources said.
