Australia [Images] have called up fast bowler Brett Geeves to cover for the injured Doug Bollinger on their tour of South Africa [Images], Cricket Australia (CA) said on Sunday.

Bollinger, not selected for the first Test in Johannesburg, strained a stomach muscle during a training session and will not be fit for the second match of the series in Durban starting on March 6.

The 26-year-old Geeves played a one-day international against Bangladesh in Darwin last August.

"Brett performed well during his time with the Australian one-day team in Darwin last year and we are looking forward to seeing another class young player with an opportunity to perform at the top level," chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch said in a statement.
