Pakistan beat the West Indies [Images] by 24 runs in the second one-day international to clinch the three-match series 2-0 at Sheikh Zayed stadium on Friday.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul [Images] remained unbeaten on 107, his ninth in one-dayesr, as wickets around him fell in a heap.

Sohail Tanvir [Images], who had started the slide, claiming both the openers (Chris Gayle and Chattergoon) without score, was named the man-of-the-match. 

Ramnaresh Sarwan [Images] made 45 but West Indies never recovered from the twin early losses.

Earlier, pacemen Jerome Taylor [Images] and Daren Powell [Images] snapped up six wickets to bowl out Pakistan for 232.

Powell took three for 50 and Taylor three for 38 as Pakistan never settled after the early departure of openers Salman Butt [Images] and Khurrum Manzoor for just seven runs.

Misbah-ul-Haq with 52 and Kamran Akmal (45) were the main scorers as Pakistan were dismissed from the final ball of the penultimate over after winning the toss.

Taylor, who suffered the ignominy of conceding 17 runs in the final over of the first match on Wednesday to hand Pakistan a close win, redeemed himself by dismissing Butt (7) who got a leading side to be caught and bowled.

Powell in the next over bowled Manzoor who played across the line.

Younis Khan batted steadily for his 34 from 42 balls with five fours and with Misbah took the total to 58 before Powell also bowled Younis with a sharp yorker.

It was sweet revenge for Powell who was earlier hit for three successive fours by Younis.

West Indies got a lucky break when in-form captain, Shoaib Malik [Images] (10) got himself run out after a mix-up with Misbah who struggled, hitting just one four in his innings that spanned 88 balls.

Misbah was fifth man out at 125 when he holed out to Powell at long off trying to hit left-arm spinner Nikita Miller out of the ground.

Wicketkeeper Akmal and allrounder Shahid Afridi [Images] added 52 runs in quick time with Afridi swinging leg-spinner Ramnaresh Sarwan for a six and a four in one over.

Akmal, who took Pakistan to victory in the first match, was unusually subdued hitting just one four in his 54-ball innings.

Akmal was bowled by Lionel Baker and next over Afridi (28) was caught behind of Taylor.

Iftikhar Anjum also went in similar fashion for seven. Sohail Tanvir indulged in some lusty hitting making 26 from 20 balls before he was run out.
