Statistical highlights of the third day's play in the second Test between India and Australia, in Sydney, on Friday.

# Harbhajan Singh [Images] (1056 runs + 253 wickets in 62) became the fourth Indian all-rounder after Kapil Dev [Images], Anil Kumble [Images] and Javagal Srinath to accomplish the double of 1000 runs and 200 wickets.

# Sachin Tendulkar [Images] (154 not out) registered his 38th century, extending his world record. It was his eighth against Australia, equal to the Indian record held by Sunil Gavaskar [Images].

# Tendulkar is now the eighth batsman to have recorded eight or more centuries against Australia.

# Tendulkar's century knock is his fifth in Australia, emulating Gavaskar's tally in Australia. He is now seventh batsman overall to have posted five or more centuries against Australia in Australia.  Jack Hobbs (9) tops the table, followed by Wally Hammond (7), Herbert Sutcliffe (6), Gavaskar, Gower, West Indian Clive Lloyd [Images] and Tendulkar - five each.

# Tendulkar extended his record for the best average at the SCG to 326.00 - 652 in four Tests (six innings). His tally is the third best against Australia at SCG, next only to England's [Images] Wally Hammond - 808 (ave.161.60) in five Tests, including four centuries and Jack Hobbs - 654 (ave.43.60) in eight Tests, including one century.

# Tendulkar became the second Indian after VVS Laxman to register three hundreds at the SCG - 148 not out in 1991-92, 241 not out in 2003-04 and 154 not out on January 4, 2008.

# When he reached 64 en route to the unbeaten 154, he became the first Indian (first in India-Australia Tests) to complete 2000 Test runs against Australia - 2090 at an average of 56.48 in 23 Tests.

# Sachin and Harbhajan put on 129 runs for the eighth wicket, India's best partnership for this wicket-position against Australia, outstripping the 127 between Syed Kirmani and Karsan Ghavri at the Wankhede stadium, in Mumbai, in 1979-80.

# Harbhajan became the third No 9 batsman from India to register a fifty against Australia, joining Karsan Ghavri � 86 (career-best) at Wankhede stadium, Mumbai, in 1979-80 and Kiran More - 67 not out at Melbourne in 1991-92.

# Harbhajan registered his second best score in Test cricket, next only to his 66 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo in 2001. His only other fifty is 55 against England, scored at Nottingham in 2002.

# Harbhajan's previous highest against Australia was 42 at Bangalore in 2004-05.

# Sourav Ganguly [Images] (67) registered his 31st fifty � his fifth against Australia.

# Ganguly's 67 is his maiden fifty in four innings at SCG, eclipsing his 25 in January 2000.

# The 31-run partnership between Sachin and Ishant Sharma for the 10th wicket is India's best at SCG, eclipsing the 24 between Anil Kumble and Venkatesh Prasad in 1999-00.
