Despite being warned, it seems the Australians continued with their verbal tirade during the third One-Day International against India in Hyderabad on Friday.

India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni [Images] had a discussion with the umpires during the match after his opposite number had a few words with pacer S Sreesanth [Images].

Dhoni revealed that Ponting used harsh words on Sreesanth and hence he spoke to the umpires about it.

"Well, we had a discussion with the match referee before the start of the match on this and the discussion [with the umpires] was entirely about that," Dhoni said after India went down by 47 runs.

Asked whether Ponting used harsh words, he replied: "He did."

But he refused to elaborate what the Australian skipper actually said.

"I cannot say that here," he told a crowded press conference.

The second ODI in Kochi was marred by a string of verbal duels between the two teams which forced the ICC [Images] match referee to caution both captains.

Harbhajan Singh [Images] also accused the Australians of resorting to a barrage of vulgar personal remarks when he came on to bat. To which Ponting came down hard on the Indian off-spinner's allegations.

"I really don't care, to tell the truth. He has got plenty to say on the field and whenever someone says something back to him he is the first one to run away from it.

"They are the ones who have come out and made all the statements since we've been here; this new India and the new aggressive outlook, the way they are going to play," Ponting had said on Thursday.

The Australians were also unhappy with the fact that the Indians got the new ball eight overs ahead of scheduled in the 27th over.

"The change of ball is fine. But in this match, there was a moment that needs to looked at. India got the ball change in the 27th over instead of 35th so they got eight more overs with the new ball.

"It is a massive advantage in such conditions. Something like that could end up impacting the game in a big way," Ponting said.
