The national selectors, led by chairman Dilip Vengsarkar, met Board of Control for Cricket in India president Sharad Pawar [Images] at his residence in Delhi on Thursday.

After holding a meeting with the BCCI chief behind closed doors, the selectors headed to DDCA headquarters at Feroze Shah Kotla ground where the Indian team for the three-Test series against South Africa is to be announced.

The meeting of the five-member selection panel was to take place in Mumbai but was shifted to Delhi to enable Pawar, also the Agriculture Minister, to have a word with the selectors.

India, who have conceded a 3-0 defeat to South Africa in the one-day series, are to play their first Test in Johannesburg from December 15.
