Younis Khan's rare distinction

Younis Khan, by ending the ongoing India-Pakistan series with 553 runs, achieved a rare distinction of aggregating 500 runs in back to back series against a particular country. Younis had aggregated 508 runs at an average of 101.60 when Pakistan had visited India last year. Younis, in the course, became first Pakistani and only the second batsman after West Indian Everton Weekes to aggregate 500 runs in two successive series against India. Overall this was the 17th instance of a batsman aggregating 500 or more runs in two successive series against a particular opponent. Younis, however, is alone in doing so in three-match series.
