Sachin Tendulkar [Images] survived an injury scare on Tuesday when X-rays revealed just a bruise on his right thumb, which he sustained while attempting a catch on the opening day of the second Test against South Africa in Durban.
Tendulkar was rushed to the hospital after he hurt his thumb while trying to take a low catch of AB de Villiers in the slips off VRV Singh just before tea.
X-rays revealed no fracture and the bruise should not hamper him unduly when it is India's turn to bat.
Rahul Dravid [Images] had fractured his finger while attempting to take a catch during a one-dayer in Cape Town last month to miss the last two matches of the ODI series.
Virender Sehwag [Images] had also hurt his finger during practice in the tour opening game and was forced to sit out of the first one-dayer.
