India must bat better: Ganguly
August 28, 2005 20:25 IST
Indian captain Sourav Ganguly [Images] has called on his batsmen to improve their form in the third tri-series series match against Zimbabwe in Harare, on Monday.
India crashed to 44 for eight on their way to a defeat by 51 runs in the second game of the tournament in Bulawayo on Friday.
"We need to win well, we haven't played well in our last five or six one-day games," Ganguly told a news conference on Sunday.
"The pressure will be there, but you need to understand that we've only been in this country for a few days."
India arrived in Bulawayo from Harare the day before their match against New Zealand [Images], and returned to the capital on Sunday morning.
"The batsmen will turn the corner, because they have played well overseas," Ganguly said.
"But when guys from the sub-continent come out here they need a week or so to acclimatise to the conditions.
"There's a lot of cricket being played these days, and all the teams are in the same boat."
