After missing a couple of matches due to a shoulder injury, veteran opener Sanath Jayasuriya [Images] is available for selection for the Colombo leg of the triangular cricket series, Sri Lankan capatain Marvan Atapattu said.

The 35-year-old opener, who is just 33 runs short of becoming the fourth batsman after Sachin Tendulkar [Images], Inzamam-ul-Haq [Images] and Sourav Ganguly [Images] to complete 10,000 runs in one-day cricket, dislocated his shoulder while fielding in the tournament opener against India last week.

Ganguly joins the 10,000 runs club

Atapattu also said left-arm seamer Chaminda Vaas [Images], yet to play in the tri-series due to injury, had recovered and would be considered for selection.

"Vaas is coming back. He tried bowling with a short run up today. We didn't play Sanath in the Dambulla (in the game against India on Wednesday) because he could have dived in a game and aggravated his injury. We wanted to give him rest," Atapattu said.

Atapattu still sees scope of improvement in the performance of his team after his side recorded its third successive win beating India by four wickets last night.

"There is no reason to get complacent. We still haven't put 100 per cent on the field. All haven't been performing together in one-game. We have performed well as individuals, but not together," Atapattu said.

"However, to restrict a strong batting line up like India in two successive games is a credit to our team."

Meanwhile, Mahela Jayawardene [Images], who did the star turn for Sri Lanka [Images] with an unbeaten 94 against India, said their task was made easy because the boundaries kept coming.

"We believe that everyone in our team can bat and there is no tailender. With Upul, I was planning a target of runs every five overs and hoping to see off wicket-taking bowlers like Harbhajan Singh [Images] and Irfan Pathan [Images].

"But the pleasant thing was to get runs against Harbhajan as well."
