Statistical Highlights, India v Pakistan, sixth ODI, in Delhi
- Shahid Afridi [Images] (44 off 23 balls) ended the series with 211 runs off only 125 balls, at a mind-boggling strike rate of 172.95, which is the second highest for any batsman aggregating at least 200 runs in a series/tournament. Sri Lanka's [Images] Sanath Jayasuriya [Images] had scored 212 runs at a strike rate of 212.75 in Singer Cup in Singapore in 1995-96.
- Abdul Razzaq's [Images] first ball duck was the 11th of his career (his fourth golden duck). This was his first duck in last 55 innings since May 2003. Among the Pakistanis only Javed Miandad (96- from 1986-87 to 1992-93)), Imran Khan [Images] (80- from 1986-87 to 1991-92) and Javed Miandad (55- from 1980-81 to 1984-85) have played more consecutive innings without recording a duck.
- Pakistan's total of 303-8 was the highest by any team at the Ferozshah Kotla. The previous highest was 294 for 3 by Australia against Zimbabwe on 11-04-1998. Incidentally the previous highest against India at this venue was 277 for 8 by Sri Lanka on 15-09-1982.
- This was the 35th time Pakistan posted a total of 300-plus -- most such instances for any team in ODI history. Pakistan were previously level with Australia with 34 such totals.
- India, on the other hand, achieved the dubious distinction of conceding 300-plus on most occasions. This was the 29th time India allowed 300-plus total against them, equaling Sri Lanka's tally.
- India's total of 144 was their lowest at this ground, surpassing their 176 against West Indies [Images] on 23-10-1989.
- The 159-run defeat was India's worst ever defeat on home soil. Their previous biggest defeat in India had also come against Pakistan -- by 143 runs at Jaipur on 24-03-1999.
- India suffered their eighth defeat in a bilateral series at home (consisting of 3 or more matches). The accompanying table has the details:

- Naved-ul-Hasan ended the series with 15 wickets (ave.16.40) in six matches. This is the best performance by a Pakistani bowler in a bilateral series. The previous record was of 11 wickets held by Waqar Younis (v New Zealand [Images] in 1990-91 and in 1993-94), Umar Gul (v Bangladesh in 2003) and Mohammad Sami [Images] (v India in 2003-04).
- Naved's performance is the joint second best by a bowler in a series against India. West Indian Patrick Patterson had taken 17 wickets in 6 matches in 1987-88, which is the best performance ever against India. Naved is tied with Englishman Paul Jarvis, who took 15 wickets (ave.16.60) in 6 matches in 1992-93.
