After bundling out Jammu and Kashmir for a paltry 79, hosts Jharkhand are comfortably placed at 133 for four wickets on the opening day of Ranji Trophy Plate Division Group 'A' match in Jamshedpur.

A quick fire 48 by wicket-keeper M S Dhoni and his 55-run second wicket partnership with Rajiv Kumar (31 batting) put Jharkhand on a firm position at the Keenan Stadium.

Kerala struggle against Orissa

All-rounder Sreekumar Nair and A V Jagadeesh hit half-centuries and put on 134 runs for the third wicket to help Kerala score 212 for 5 in the first innings on the opening day of their Plate 'A' Ranji trophy cricket match against Orissa in Palakkad on Thursday.

Vidarbha take first innings lead over Tripura

Vidarbha, after dismissing Tripura for 91, gained vital first innings lead reaching 109 for four at close of play on the opening day in the Group-B (Plate) Ranji Trophy cricket match at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground at Nagpur on Thursday.

Tripura first innings 91 all out: (T U Rehaman 34, Baburao Yadav 4 for 9, Alind Naidu 3 for 28)

Haryana 237 for six against Goa

Put in to bat, Haryana were 237 for the loss of six wickets on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy Plate Division match against Goa here today.

At close of play on Day One, Joginder Sharma was batting on 68 with Amit Mishra on three.
