Sehwag, Gambhir break many records

The 218-run partnership between Sehwag and Gambhir is now the second highest for India against all Test countries after the world record 413-run partnership between Vinoo Mankad and Pankaj Roy (v New Zealand at Madras in 1955-56).
Scorecard
It is now the fifth highest opening wicket partnership on Indian soil and eighth highest against South Africa in all Tests.
More interestingly this is now the first double century opening partnership for India between a right-handed and a left-handed batsman.
