Goa stare at innings defeat
Services were getting ready to deliver the knock-out punch on Goa after the visitors were bundled out for 244 in their first innings and followed on in the Ranji Trophy Plate 'B' league match in New Delhi on Thursday.
Replying to Services mammoth first innings score of 507 for five declared, Goa trailed by 263 runs and were then 16 for one as they followed on in their second knock at the end of the third day's play at the Palam Grounds.
Goa's batting came apart despite a brilliant unbeaten century by Mandar Phadke with the spinners doing the damage with seven wickets between them on a good batting track.
Resuming at one for no loss, Goa lost wickets at regular intervals and crumbled to 167 for 8 before Phadke with the help of No. 10 and No. 11 took the total to 244.

Phadke, who came in at three down, remained unbeaten after waging a lone battle for nearly three hours. His fifth first class century contained 21 fours and a six.
