Collins sinks Bangladesh
June 08, 2004 11:05 IST
Paceman Pedro Collins took six for 53 to bowl West Indies to an innings and 99 runs victory in the second and final Test against Bangladesh in Kingston, Jamaica, on Monday.
The visitors were bowled out midway through day four for 176 in their second innings after the last seven wickets went for down for 24.
The first Test in St Lucia was drawn to the embarrassment of the home side, but they fought back to clinch the series 1-0.
A magnificent unbeaten 261 by Ramnaresh Sarwan and centuries from Brian Lara and Shivnarine Chanderpaul enabled West Indies to declare their first innings at 559 for four on Sunday and the result was rarely in doubt after that.
After 30 Tests since being granted Test status, Bangladesh still await their first victory.
The West Indies won last month's one-day series between the two countries 3-0.
