ICC to inspect Dutch venue for ODI triangular

January 20, 2004 12:01 IST

A cricket ground in the Netherlands is to be inspected this month to judge its suitability as venue for a one-day series involving Pakistan, India and Australia later this year.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman confirmed that the VRS ground in Amstelveen had been chosen as a possible venue for matches in the triangular series, which will take place ahead of September's ICC Champions Trophy in England.

"The International Cricket Council (ICC) will be sending its venue inspection committee members to Amstelveen later this month to see the venue. They would be joined by officials of the three cricket boards," spokesman Samiul Hasan said.

Amstelveen hosted a World Cup match between South Africa and Kenya in 1999.
