Pakistan's Razzaq taken to hospital

December 28, 2004 11:44 IST

Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq will be unable to field on the third day of the second Test against Australia at Melbourne as he was taken to hospital on Tuesday morning complaining of dizziness and shortness of breath.

The 25-year-old Razzaq was taken from the team's Melbourne hotel to a local hospital two hours before the scheduled start of play.

"He will remain in hospital overnight. He has been suffering light-headedness, vomiting and breathing problems," a Cricket Australia spokeswoman said.

Razzaq crawled to a score of four not out from 76 balls in almost two hours of painstaking batting on Monday.

The right-arm medium-pacer has figures of none for 27 from seven overs in Australia's first innings of 203 for five in reply to Pakistan's 341.

Australia lead the three-match series 1-0.
