Uttar Pradesh medium pacers R P Singh and Ashish Winston Zaidi bowled a tight line to skittle out Maharashtra for a paltry 119 runs in the second innings on the third day of their Ranji Trophy Elite group 'B' match played in Kolhapur on Friday.
Uttar Pradesh, who need 232 runs for an outright win, were 59 for one when stumps were drawn for the day.
The hosts, who gained a vital first innings lead of 112 runs, could not capitalise on the advantage and displayed a pathetic batting in the second essay on the penultimate day.
Only Kashinath Khadkikar (27) tried to put some resistence but lacked support from the other end.
While Singh claimed five wickets for 33 runs, Zaidi chipped in with three wickets for 42 runs.
