Fine bowling by Ashraf Makda and Hitesh Majumdar helped Gujarat restrict Madhya Pradesh to 242 for seven wickets on the third day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Elite group 'A' match played at Motera stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.
Makda's fiery bowling sent four batsmen to the pavilion while Mazumdar scalped three. Brijesh Tomar (31) and Sunil Dholpure (20) were at the crease when the stumps were drawn.
Shaken by the Gujarat bowling, Madhya Pradesh, 72 for three overnight, were put into deep trouble as not a single batsmen managed to post a decent score. Nikhil Patwardhan was the highest scorer with 34 runs.
While skipper Amay Khurasia scored 24 runs, Devendra Bundela (19), Yogesh Golwalkar (23) and Abbas Ali (30) were the other batsmen who failed miserably.
