Mumbai off-spinner Ramesh Powar came up with a brilliant display of spin bowling to claim seven wickets for 55 runs and skittle out Bengal for 239 on the third day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' match in Kolkata on Monday.
For the hosts, opener Arindam Das struck a valiant 55.
S Sanyal (59) and S Lahiri (53) tried to stage a late fightback but the other batsmen contributed virtually nothing in the face of Powar's superb off-spin.
The visitors enforced the follow-on and at the close of play, Bengal were 14 for no loss.
