Badani slams a hundred

Tamil Nadu rode to a commanding position on a magnificent 146 by Hemang Badani to pile up 485 for five declared and then reduced hosts Assam to 123 for two at the end of the second day's play of the elite groub B Ranji trophy match in Guwahati on Sunday.
Badani scored freely on the placid Nehru Stadium wicket as he was run out at 146 with the help of 14 fours and two sixes.
N S Badrinath partnered him well for 73 while S Sarath compiled a well deserved 60.
The home team ran into trouble at the start of their innings when opener Subrajit Saikia fell lbw to pacemen Srinivas for four while Pragad Das was Srinivas second victim.
However, skipper Zakaria Zuffri and V Sarvanand provided some respectability to the score as they remained unbeaten with 44 and 46 respectively.
