Pakistan lose to Western Australia

December 03, 2004 21:55 IST

Pakistan suffered a humiliating 10-run defeat against Western Australia state second XI in their opening tour match on Friday after they were bowled out for just 83 in their second innings.

Chasing 94 on the final day of the three-day match in Perth, stand-in captain Yousuf Youhana (41) and Younis Khan (28) were the only Pakistan players to reach double figures.

Western Australia fast bowler Justin Coetzee captured five for 23 to finish with 10 wickets for the match.

Pakistan have two more warm-up matches to play before the first Test against Australia, starting in Perth on December 16 and coach Bob Woolmer said he was worried by their early form.

"Of course I'm concerned about our performance," Woolmer told reporters.

"It showed the limitations of some of our young batsmen and our senior batsmen as well, so we've got a lot of work to do in the next few days."
