Playing for the Needy

India's leading cricketers parted with some of their memorabilia at a charity auction in Bangalore on Friday.

There was an interesting duel for Sachin Tendulkar's bat between Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag and cricket enthusiast Venu Nambiar (centre).

In the end, Venu, a Tendulkar fan, picked up the maestro's willow for Rs 3,00,000 [$6,550]. Tendulkar's gloves went to the son of his former marketing agent, Mark Mascarenhas, who was killed in a road accident. The ex-WorldTel chief's sister paid Rs 55,000 for the pair.
