Pace bowler Ajit Agarkar replaces Aavishkar Salvi for the second and final Test against New Zealand starting on Thursday at Mohali.

Initially the Indian selection committee had retained the squad that played in the Ahmedabad Test. But they were forced to make the change when Salvi injured his hand during practise in the morning.

"We realised that Salvi would require stitches and would not be able to play, so we opted for Agarkar," Board of Control for Cricket in India joint secretary Ratnakar Shetty told rediff.com

Squad: Saurav Ganguly (captain), Akash Chopra, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, Vangipurappu Laxman, Parthiv Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Anil Kumble, Lakshmipathy Balaji, Zaheer Khan, Sairaj Bahutule, Yuvraj Singh, Ajit Agarkar.
