Madhya Pradesh were in the driver's seat taking an overall lead of 260 runs against Bihar with five wickets still remaining at the end of the second day of their four-day Plate division Ranji Trophy match at Ranchi on Monday.

After taking a 48-run first innings lead, the visitors rode on a brilliant unbeaten 70 by D Bundela and equally fine 42 by Amay Khurasia to take Madhya Pradesh to 212 for five in their second innings at close.

Earlier resuming their overnight score of 41 for five, the batsmen of the host team failed to withstand the onslaught of Sanjay Pandey (7-23) and were skittled out for a meagre 85 in their first innings.

Brief Scores:

MP first innings: 133 all out and 212 for five (D Bundela 70 not out, Naman Ojha 18 not out)

Bihar first innings: 85 all out (Mihir Diwakar 24, Sanjay Pandey 7/23, H S Sodhi 2/39).
