C&G Trophy quarter-final: Derbyshire 271 all out (50 overs) beat Surrey 134 all out (33.4 overs) by 137 runs

Indian middle-order batsman Mohammad Kaif marked his Derbyshire one-day debut with perfectly-paced 81 to put an end to Surrey's unbeaten season with a 137-run C&G Trophy quarter-final victory.

Chasing 272, last year's semi-finalists, who opted to go without England duo Alec Stewart and Mark Butcher, were bowled out for 134 with 16 overs remaining.

The loss was Surrey's first in 24 outings in all forms of the game since last August.

Derbyshire will now travel to Bristol to take on Gloucestershire, victors over Warwickshire, in the semi-finals.

Pak 298-7 (50 overs) beat Northants 236 all out (45.3 overs) by 62 runs 

Pakistan's fortunes in England improved as they completed an easy 62-run victory over Northants.

The tourists, who begin a three-match one-day international series against England next week, suffered a 50-run defeat to Essex on Monday.

Pakistan racked up a challenging 298-7, thanks to half-centuries from opener Imran Nazir, Yousuf Youhana and Yasir Hameed.

An inexperienced attack, still lacking Azhar Mahmood who is on county duty with Surrey, could only watch as David Sales hit an even-time century.

But only when Jeff Cook joined Sales in a 106-run fourth wicket partnership did the hosts look like posing a challenge.

Northants were eventually bowled out for 236 in the 46th over.

Poms to play 20 overs a side
