Board of Control for Cricket in India president Jagmohan Dalmiya says he is hopeful of India - Pakistan cricketing ties resuming soon.
Speaking to rediff.com after meeting with Minister of State for Youth and Sports Vijay Goel, in Delhi on Tuesday, he said his optimism comes from "a series of visits by India and Pakistan parliamentarians to each other's countries in recent weeks".
"I am hopeful that cricketing ties will be resumed soon," Dalmiya said.
Though the purpose of calling on Goel was to strictly discuss the issue, he described the meeting as a courtesy call. However, when asked whether India-Pakistan cricketing ties were discussed he replied, "We are still awaiting a formal reply from the government on the letter I had written to Sports Minister Vikram Verma five months ago. I am hopeful of a positive reply."
