Tigers fightback in Australia

Bangladesh were locked in a battle with the Australian Cricket Academy after the tourists produced a spirited all-round display on the second day of their tour match at Allan Border Field on Friday.

Bangladesh declared their first innings at 7-232, a deficit of 26, and reduced the Academy to 4-99 in their second innings at stumps on day two.

With one day left, the Academy leads by 125 runs with six wickets remaining.

Vaughan blames the bowlers

Michael Vaughan was visibly upset after his team categorically failed to compete with South Africa.

Vaughan's team beat South Africa in their first encounter at The Oval, but were thoroughly outplayed under the floodlights at Old Trafford.

England have now failed to win any of their three one-day matches batting first this summer, instead winning the three in which they have had to chase targets.

Vaughan said: "I thought 223 was going to be a competitive total out there but Jacques Kallis and Jacques Rudolph played extremely well out there and just didn't give us a sniff.

"The way [Anthony] McGrath and [Marcus] Trescothick got us out of trouble was real credit to ourselves but we probably didn't bowl as well as we could have."

Lanka shifts venues

Sri Lanka is moving most of its matches away from the capital Colombo when England tour in an attempt to boost tourism.

Some of the matches will be moved to places such as Kandy and Galle, both popular tourist spots, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board said.

Sri Lanka will play England in three Tests and three one-dayers in November and December.
