Jadeja scores 54 in drawn tie
December 04, 2003 18:47 IST
Former India all-rounder Ajay Jadeja, making a comeback to Ranji Trophy cricket, scored his first fifty this season for Delhi even as hosts Punjab gained two valuable points from the 'Elite' Group 'A' match that ended in a tame draw in Mohali on Thursday.
Delhi, who conceded a 75-run first innings lead and two points, finished the final day at 264 for five, with opener Rajat Bhatia top-scoring with 75.
Jadeja, who played without any pressure, carved out an unbeaten 54 off 74 balls to signal his return to form.
His 118-minute knock was studded with eight fours, but it came a bit too late for his side who failed to add to solitary point it has gained so far.
Delhi now have just one point in their kitty after four matches, against Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, Railways and Punjab.
Today's draw took Punjab's points tally to four.
