MP make steady progress

Madhya Pradesh scored 151 for three in reply to Vidarbha's 387 all out on the second day of the four day Ranji Trophy match in Indore on Tuesday.

Earlier, resuming on their overnight score of 287 for loss of five wickets, Vidarbha's P Vivek scored a ton (100, 4x14), while other batsmen did not contribute much.

Local lad Narendra Hirwani caused major damage to Vidarbha claiming three of the five wickets to fall today taking his tally to 4 for 80.

MP began its innings on a confident note with openers Sachin Dholpure (39) and Naman Ojha (79) adding 121 runs for the first-wicket partnership.

However, in the 28th over, Dholpure was caught by Pritam Gandhe off Chandrashekhar Atram giving, Vidarbha the much-needed break.

In the 29th over, MP suffered another setback when Ojha was stumped by Amit Deshpande off Madhusudan Acharya.

At the draw of stumps, Devenra Bundela was not out on 33 and Abba Ali was batting on 29 were at the crease at the draw of stumps.
