Trivedi looking to impress
August 07, 2003 18:26 IST
Young medium-pacer Siddharth Trivedi, selected as one of the probables for the coming home series against New Zealand, says he will try and make the most of the opportunity in order to fulfil his long-standing wish to play for the country.
The 20-year-old Gujarat bowler, one of the surprise faces in the 36-player probables' list, said his sole aim is to play for the nation and give his best.
"It is a great opportunity that has come my way....at least I have been picked for the camp and I want to make the most of it," he said.

Trivedi, who was first noticed when he played in last year's Under-19 World Cup and took nine wickets, considers Australia's Glenn McGrath as his idol.
Asked whether he wanted to bowl as fast as Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar, he replied in the negative. "I want to bowl within my strengths and limits. If I don't do that my performance can be hampered and bowling go haywire."
"There is a lot of competition and I am concentrating on my strengths to brighten my chances of playing for the country," he added.
