Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Tower of London, St. Paul's, Harrods -- all linked inextricably with the history of London. And then there is Lord's, linked as much with the history of the city, as with the game of cricket.
Though in recent times the power centres of cricket have shifted towards the subcontinent, cricketers of all nations are unanimous in their view that the ultimate high is playing on the turf of Lord's -- cricket's mecca for the cognoscenti.
The bastion of cricket's tradition has seen 31 one-day internationals. Lord's has also hosted three World Cup finals, including the 1983 edition, which India won against two-time champion West Indies.
