1995.
-- The catch of Graham Thorpe off his own bowling was Anil Kumble's 19th

bowled" dismissals by England's left-armer Derek Underwood in 86 matches.
-- The match figures of 8-133 by Kumble were the second best by a bowler at
this venue after the 8-108 by Javagal Srinath against New Zealand in October
1999.
-- Kumble's figures of 6-81 in the second innings were the third best at
this venue after the 6-27 by New Zealander Dion Nash in October 1999 and
Srinath's 6-45 in the same match.
-- This was the ninth time Kumble was capturing six or more wickets in a
Test innings. The summary being: 6 wkts - 7 times, 7 wkts and 10 wkts each -
once. He now equals the tally of Kapil Dev and BS Chandrashekar - both of

occasions.
-- Iqbal Siddiqui now has the unique distinction of becoming the first
Indian Test debutant to open the bowling and batting in the same Test match.

bat. India's only two other such wins came away from home - against England
at Lord's in June 1986 (by 5 wickets) and against Sri Lanka at Kandy in
August this year (by 7 wickets). For the record, India have lost 14 and
drawn 22 Tests after inviting the opposition to bat.
-- The ten-wicket win was India's fourth in Tests and its first against
England. India had beaten Pakistan twice by a similar margin at the Brabourne Stadium, Bombay (in November 1952) and at Chepauk, Madras (in January 1980) and then New Zealand at Hyderabad (in December 1988). India's previous best wins over England in terms of wickets have been by eight wickets each at the Wankhede Stadium at Bombay in November 1984 and at Calcutta in February 1993.
-- England has now lost four Test matches in row on Indian soil. The team
had lost all the three Tests during their last tour in 1993.
