Treason case against indicted cricketers
A treason case against five Indian cricketers and a former team physiotherapist, who have been named in the Central Bureau of Investigation report for involvement in match-fixing and betting, has been filed by an advocate in a Madhya Pradesh court.
Shailendra Diwedi said he filed for private prosecution against former captain Mohammad Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja, Nayan Mongia, Manoj Prabhakar, Ajay Sharma and former team physiotherapist Ali Irani because India's reputation had been sullied following the match-fixing allegations.
The magistrate who heard the petition fixed the hearing for November 17.
