"This is a significant step forward in fulfilling our mission of providing our clients with future-ready winning solutions. The 'authorised Java centre' is a milestone in our rapid journey from mind share to market share," Roy claimed.

Pramanik believes Java is transforming the enterprise-computing environment by enabling a safe and robust platform for Internet commerce. This, he claims will transform business itself.

Designed for the network, Java computing provides integration of applications, integration with legacy systems and rapid development and implementation of new business applications and processes to better respond to changes occurring throughout the supply chain.

"The AJC will be able to provide consultancy and customised solutions built around Sun's innovative network computing technologies to our customers in India with particular emphasis on the manufacturing segment," he added.
