IBM stall focuses on e-businessVijay Shankar at Pragati MaidanThe letter 'e' in our logo has made IBM synonymous with e-business," declared Mahesh Jayaram. "Our presence here is a part of the strategic brand comparing this year." "Our objective in being here is to communicate the IBM leadership in e-business. E-business is not the same as e-commerce, which is merely the far end of the spectrum. We offer technology products and services for every stage of the evolution to e-commerce," said Jayaram. The exhibits included hardware from IBM, all e-business ready, according to Jayaram, comprising PCs, ThinkPads, servers, AS/400s and NCs and software too, like Tivoli, DB2, Via Voice and networking hardware products. IBM's show objectives were satisfactorily met, feels Jayaram, because invitations had earlier been sent to over 1,500 targeted clients in the Delhi region and most of these turned up. The Via Voice - a simple device costing Rs 10,000 for voice recognition got an enthusiastic response. |
