The Match-Fixing Scandal
On Friday, April 7, Delhi police dropped a bombshell, saying they had conclusive evidence indicating that South African players, including skipper Hansie Cronje, had been involved in match-fixing during the recent five-game one day series in India. With the breaking of the scandal, South Africa promptly ordered the King Commission to probe into the matter. For the first time, mikes were allowed in the court. Dr. Ali Bacher gave his evidence live on radio and television.
